About me

My name is Dr. Adam Morrison, and my job here at the Smart Canadian Pharmacy is mainly to write, review, and edit medical publications. I am happy to say that many of the studies and articles I have authored or co-authored appeared in international journals; further, I have participated in numerous international events devoted to andrology as a host or invited speaker.

I received my bachelor degree in urology and andrology from the Eastern Virginia Medical School in 1999, and then my PhD summa cum laude from the same university in 2004. I combined my studies with work at a biomedical research lab at the Lankenau Institute for Medical Research in Wynnewood, PA.

After a final few years of study and work at the Urology Institute of Northeastern New York, and now a practicing urologist – a job that I combine with writing for the Smart Canadian Pharmacy based in Winnipeg, Canada. My main areas of study and practice are urology, andrology, and related oncological problems. Almost every day I see patients suffering from benign and malignant tumours who need surgical treatment, with prostate and bladder diseases, with ED, premature ejaculation, and infertility.

My work as a urologist allowed me to accumulate  a large body of knowledge, which I use extensively in my writing. I believe that my hands-on approach can prove helpful to my readers, many of whom suffer from the same disorders as my patients do. I’d like to believe that the articles I write and edit help them make better-informed decisions, be it asking their physician the right questions or choosing among the available treatment options.

About me

Hello everyone, I am Peter Emmerson, and I am a senior medical writer at the Smart Canadian Pharmacy as. In fact, I started working for this company as a freelance writer several years before actually assuming the position. After receiving my PhD, I worked for eight years as a research assistant in a lab in Edmonton.

My life, my ideas, and my interests have been largely shaped by three things: the study of sexology, research on psychology, and the art of meditation. Let me explain how each of them has made an impact, shaping me into the person that I am.

All children go through a stage whey they have to confront their own sexuality and that of others; naturally, they ask embarrassing questions about where children come from and so on. But for me it was different, much more pronounced: I quickly got down to the answers (at least at the level that I could understand at that point), but the topic was so fascinating that I simply went on digging. As I teenager, I already knew what I wanted to do with my life: I would become a sexologist!

By the time I was 16, I had a good grasp of the major concepts of sexual studies, and yet something was missing. It was a book I received as a Christmas gift – Your Erroneous Zones by Wayne W. Dyer – that introduced me to the study of psychology, something I had previously neglected. It added a whole new dimension to my understanding of sexual relations, and I went on to study psychology at the University of North Carolina.

As I have said before, my third passion is meditation; however, it is a rather recent addition to my professional toolkit, so to speak. I was lucky to attend a meeting with the Dalai Lama himself, when he came to Ottawa in 2012. I remember feeling like I urgently had to rethink everything I knew. I started practicing meditation and eventually went to Nepal to study with a well-known master there. Pranayam and exercises in mindfulness taught me a lot about myself and brought a deep change into my life, especially in the sexual sphere (I have to admit that I had struggled with sexual problems for years).

My approach to my studies and my writing is very synthetic: I bring together the science of sexology, scholarship on psychology, and my own research in meditation to form a holistic image of human sexuality. There are so many things that can go wrong: in one’s body, in the biochemistry of one’s brain, and in one’s psyche. The line between body and mind is indeed a very fine one, and the more we learn, the finer it becomes.

Now that I work as a medical writer, rather than as a lab scientist, I see it as my mission to spread the knowledge I have accumulated and to assist people in resolving their issues – mostly those of a sexual kind. I would like to think of myself as an expert on sex – on its physiology, chemistry and psychology, sure, but also on its deeper emotional aspects. Fulfilling sexual life can bring tremendous benefits to a person; conversely, a feeling of sexual inadequacy or a lack of intimacy with a partner can ruin one’s sense of wellbeing. Therefore, I see my mission as a writer in giving people hope, solutions, sound advice – whatever they need to restore balance in their sexual life. I am grateful to the Smart Canadian Pharmacy for the opportunity to help my readers; every day I do my best so that our clients may have the most positive experience.

About me

My name is Judith Ayers, and I regularly contribute to the Smart Canadian Pharmacy as a writer. I was born in Thunder Bay, but my studies and work took me to various places around North America. I currently live in Sanford, working as a science writer for Eurofins Lancaster Labs. My articles for the Smart Canadian Pharmacy cover the subjects of male health, andrology, and urology, while at Eurofins I write and edit texts on pharmacology, clinical trial reports and reviews of new drugs. I always strive to get the most out my expertise in these two areas, combining them into a larger picture.

I’ve always had an analytical streak and a good memory, and my work as an academic and scientific writer has taught me the art of synthesis. I love what I do at the Smart Canadian Pharmacy, because it allows me to use my capacity for data analysis to give sound advice to readers, to make complex medical concepts simple, and to debunk myths. I have to write about dozens of disorders and diseases, yet I believe that there is no disease more dangerous than ignorance. People must be taught more about how their body works, what medical terms mean, and how they can prevent disease. Without such scientific education, we will not be able to raise healthier future generations.

How We Make Sure You Get Safe Generics Through Canadian Pharmacy

genericsGenerics, or equivalent drugs contain the same active ingredient and the same amount as the original medicinal product (referred to as the reference medicinal product), which should also have the same pharmaceutical form and route of administration. These are medicines that must meet the same quality, efficacy and safety criteria as the original medication: besides having to have the same quantitative content as active ingredients, they must meet the principle of bioequivalence with the reference medicine. Generic drugs have one or more active substances whose patents are expired may be formulated. The equivalent medication can be both a shop (buyable freely) and prescriptive (only available with a prescription), just as the specialty from which it originates. By opting for a generic drug, you can save up to 9/10ths of the original medication cost. This is how Smart Canadian Pharmacy enables you to restore your health in a totally budget-friendly way.

It is no secret that men’s health drugs are at the higher end of the spectrum when it comes to price formation. So we target this specific cluster of medications, the proverbial sore spot, in order to relieve where it hurts the most. In this connection, we bring quality generics of such drugs as Viagra, Cialis and Levitra to your attention. How do we make sure they are theirs is the best quality that can be obtained on the market?

Smart Canadian Pharmacy team representatives hand-pick offers by trustworthy pharmaceutical drug providers and manufacturers. First off, we only list drugs that are clinically approved. There are four testing steps for a drug before being placed on the market, the first of which is only on animals, which may take up to ten years from the laboratory to the patient’s drug chest. A long journey built to ensure the highest level of security.

Preclinical tests. A molecule that has a potential effect as a drug is first tested in vitro on cells and then in vivo on animals. Only if the latter give a positive result you can go to the tests in humans.

  • PHASE 1. This phase only helps to check the safety of the drug, and the absence of serious side effects. It is generally conducted on a small number of healthy volunteers, although in some cases it can be done on patients of the disease that the drug should cure. If no toxicity is observed, or if side effects are judged acceptable with respect to possible benefits, the developers can proceed to the next step.
  • PHASE 2. At this stage, potential drug is tested on patients of the disease that should cure, and an initial evaluation of efficacy and the best dose is made. Generally the test is done on some hundreds of patients, half of which receives the active ingredient and the other half another drug or placebo.
  • PHASE 3. If phase 2 benefits from the use of the active principle, it is possible to go to step 3. This is generally conducted on a much larger number of patients, in the order of thousands, on which side effects and adverse reactions are also evaluated. This stage is also done in a randomized way, assigning that at random the patients the drug or a placebo (or another drug for the same illness). Generally, the test is ‘double blind’, i.e. those performing the test to check the effectiveness do not know if they are analyzing a patient who received the drug or placebo, and neither do patients.
